Q.1      How did Bhagwant University came into existence?
Bhagwant University is established by Bhagwant Education Foundation (BEF) which is registered under the “Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860” (Registration No. S-42899 of 2002). BEF is a not-for-profit society promoted by a group of NRIs and prominent professionals from the industry. Bhagwant University is envisioned as a world class university in the state of Rajasthan.

Q.2      (a) How has the University been created? Does it belong to the State Govt.?
BHAGWANT UNIVERITY has been created under an Act of Rajasthan State Legislature notified vide Government of Rajasthan Act No. 18 of 2008. However, the Commissioner College of Education or his nominee of the State Government is a member of the Board of Management.

(b) Is Bhagwant University a deemed University?
No, Bhagwant University is not a Deemed University. It is a State University.

Q.3      Is the University Approved by UGC? What is the significance of Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956? Are BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY courses recognized?
Any University established in India has to be in accordance with Section 2(f) of the UGC Act which defines that:
“University” means a University established or incorporated by or under a Central Act. a Provincial Act or State Act, and includes any such institution as may, in consultation with the University concerned, be recognized by the Commission in accordance with the regulation made in this behalf under this Act”. BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY has been duly notified by UGC as a University under their notification No. F.9-6/2009 (CPP-I) dated March 17, 2009. Hence it is duly recognized and the Degrees awarded by the University are fully valid and legal.

Q.4      Has BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY been approved by AICTE? Is there any such requirement?
Under the AICTE Act and its subsequent Regulations, Universities established under a State or Central Act in accordance with Section 2(f) and 3 of the UGC Act. 1956, do not require AICTE approval. However, the Universities are only required to maintain AICTE norms and standards and require no prior approval of AICTE for starting Technical & Professional course.

This has also been clarified by the Hon ble Supreme Court’s Judgment in the case of Bharathidasan University v/s AICTE where in the court had ruled that:
“It is not mandatory for a University, created under an Act, to seek & secure prior approval of the AICTE to start a department for imparting a course or program in technical education or technical institution as an adjunct to the University itself to conduct technical courses of its choice & selection. The Bench also said that the definition of Technical Institution excludes from its purview a University, and when by definition a University is excluded from a technical institution to interpret that such a clause or such an expression, wherever the expression technical institution occurs, will include a University will be reading into the Act what is not provided therein”.

Bhagwant University is following all the norms and standards of AICTE.

Q.5      Is the University receiving financial assistance from any other sources?
BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY  is a self funded University and does not receive any grant or financial assistance from the Rajasthan State Government. The University is also not entitled to receive any financial assistance or grants from UGC or any other source funded by the Government lf India.

Q. 6     Will the degree awarded by BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY carry emblem of UGC or any other body?
The degree awarded by any University does not bear the emblem of either UGC or any other body.

The University has excellent training and placement cell. The campus placement has ranged between 65% to 85%.

Generally the Industry goes by the reputation and credibility of BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY while making campus recruitment as AICTE approval is not required for University which has already been stated in Q 4

Q.8      Placement is done only though campus? Do these companies follow their normal requirement process or have a specially designed format for BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY? Yes placement is done though campus recruitment. The recruiting companies for campus placement follow their standard selection procedures.

Q. 10  What is the intake for the Five Years Integrated M. Tech Program in each Academic Year?
Only one intake of 30 students per Academic Year, which usually commences in July end or early August each Year.

Q. 11  How many B.Tech Students are admitted into the Institute of Technology each year?
The Institute of Engineering & Technology offers 11 disciplines where intake ranges from 60-120 students per year. Four specialized branches viz. Nanotech, Biotech, Petroleum and Aeronautical has intake of 60 students whereas demanding and conventional branches like ECE, CE, ME has intake of 120 students.

Q.13   Will the B.Tech Degree awarded by BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY make students eligible to apply for Higher & further Studies in India & Overseas?
Yes, very much. All the courses offered by BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY are approved by the UGC. Students after pursuing the degree from BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY can apply to any national or International Institute/College/University for Higher & further education.

Q.14   Will I get a Bank Loan to pursue my education at BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY?
Yes, all the Nationalized banks are libererelly granting Education Loan to cover Course Fees, Hostel charges etc. Bhagwant University is shortly tie-ups with few banks for granting of Education loan to our students.
Q.15   Are there any RESERVATIONS/QUOTA of seeking admission at BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY?
No. Reservations/quota exists for taking admissions to any course at BHAGWANT UNIVERSITY. However, University gives admission to all category students including SC/ST/OBC/General as per the State Government norms. However scholarship is earmarked for deserving candidates on merit basis/means/girl candidates.
